What’s your role at the Dorothy Parkes Centre and what do you enjoy most about it?

My role is Chief Executive Officer, so I manage and oversee all aspects of the charity, and I report directly to our Board of Trustees. I enjoy meeting so many different people and seeing smiles on faces.

What’s one word your colleagues would use to describe you?

I’ll play this one safe and say ‘Organised’!

What’s your favourite memory or moment at the centre so far?

It must be the opening of the new kitchen which had been a goal of mine since I walked through the door in 2017.

What’s your top tip for someone visiting the centre for the first time?

Be yourself, ask questions, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the experience!

What’s your go-to drink or snack during a busy day?

A plate of sarnies and/or cakes from one of Chris Tanners afternoon teas!

What’s a hidden talent or fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

I met my partner for the first time back in July 2022, whilst doing the Three Peaks Challenge, raising money for the Dorothy Parkes Centre.

What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend or day off?

Doing something outdoors with good company, either a nice walk/trek or playing crown green bowls.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

New York City at Christmas because Home Alone 2 is one of my favourite films.

What’s a book, film, or TV show you love and always recommend to others?

Home Alone 1 & 2 are must see Christmas films but Shawshank Redemption has always been my favourite film.

If you were a character in a movie or TV show, who would you be and why?

Probably Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity films as I was always told I looked like him!
