The Dorothy Parkes Centre is an award-winning community hub located in Smethwick, within the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell in the West Midlands. Serving one of the area’s most diverse yet disadvantaged communities, the Centre was established through an innovative partnership between the Parish Church Council, Sandwell Area Health Authority, Harborne Parish Lands, the New Opportunities Fund, and the Church Urban Fund. Opened in 2000, it has since become a welcoming and inclusive space, offering opportunities for all and remaining open seven days a week.

The Dorothy Parkes Centre exists to be a safe, welcoming, and accessible space at the heart of Smethwick where people of all ages, backgrounds, and circumstances can come together, find support, and improve their quality of life. We connect individuals to opportunities, services, and activities that promote health, wellbeing, learning, and community spirit.
