Centre News Archived News Life Thru the Lens – Film Screening Celebration On 20th January, we proudly celebrated the screening of Life Thru the Lens, a powerful film that highlights how we support people on their recovery journey in a warm, non‑clinical, community setting. This inspiring project was led by filmmaker Kate Green and made possible through funding from Sandwell Council. The film showcases the creativity, resilience, and personal stories of those who took part in our 10‑week filmmaking course here at the Dorothy Parkes Centre. A huge thank you goes to everyone involved in bringing this project to life. We would also like to extend our appreciation to Chef Aairon from Food for Thought, who treated attendees to a delicious hot lunch. The menu included a hearty beef stew with dumplings, as well as a vegetarian chilli served with rice and nachos — enjoyed by all. You can now watch Life Thru the Lens here: Please feel free to like and share the video — there may be someone out there who doesn’t yet know what the Dorothy Parkes Centre has to offer, and this could be exactly what they need.
