At the Dorothy Parkes Centre (DPC), we’re committed to fostering communities that are inclusive, supportive, and purposeful. Over the years, X / Twitter has been one of the spaces where we’ve connected with stakeholders, promoting our projects and services and we’ve joined important conversations and debates.

While X / Twitter has helped increase our reach, it’s no longer a platform that we want to be part of.

Our mission is to create safe, supportive spaces for people from all backgrounds. X / Twitter’s climate no longer aligns with our vision. Harmful rhetoric, divisive content and misinformation have become commonplace. For the DPC, this shift goes against our fundamental values.

So, we’re focusing on other channels and platforms where we can foster positive, purposeful interactions that reflect our values. We’re investing in spaces where we can engage with stakeholders in ways that are respectful and empowering.

The DPC remains dedicated to supporting our local community and raising our profile, increasing our reach — just not on X / Twitter. We encourage our community to stay connected with us through our website, our newsletter and our other channels, where we’ll keep sharing details of the work we do and forthcoming projects and events.

Our account on X / Twitter will be deleted with immediate effect.
