Centre News Archived News Heartfelt thanks to our generous supporters We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the wonderful individuals and groups who have recently supported The Dorothy Parkes Centre through their kindness and generosity. Your donations make such a difference to the local community, especially during the festive season. A huge thank you to Jade Kaur for her incredibly generous donations of food over the weeks. These items will be shared with those in need within our local community and used to create Christmas hampers to spread joy this holiday season. Your thoughtfulness is truly inspiring, Jade. A Special Thanks to Mr. Singh from Carl’s Convenience Store. We’re so grateful to Mr. Singh for his ongoing kindness. He regularly donates bread and bagels to the Centre, and these go directly to support members of our local community. Your regular support is greatly appreciated, and we’re lucky to have you as part of our network of kindness. We recently put out a request on ‘Neighbourly’ inviting people to write Christmas cards or letters to share with visitors to The Dorothy Parkes Centre and also birthday cards for Edna and Mavis. Our goal was simple: to remind people that someone is thinking of them over the festive season and to help combat loneliness and isolation. We have received an amazing response from Hays Recruitment, with the first batch of beautifully written cards being delivered by David Lewis from the Hays Leicester Branch. A huge thank you to David and his family for supporting this initiative. Your generosity and kindness have truly made a difference, and we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. A total of 514 cards have been received in total from Hays, Uplands Manor Primary School and the local community. We’d also like to thank the staff and customers at One Stop Uplands, Hales Lane, for their generous food donation. These contributions will be shared with members of our local community facing hardship this winter. Your support means the world—thank you! Manage Cookie Preferences
