Thursday 27^th March was an extra special day at Bearwood Allotments. The sun was shining, and we were visited by two very experienced landscapers, Steve and Mark, from Benchmark Grounds Maintenance Ltd.

 

They spent most of the day, with assistance from our Plot Lead Paul, levelling an unloved, contaminated, and rugged area next to the Community Shop. The area is now set to become a community plot for all plot holders to enjoy.

 

The star of the show was the mini digger, which did the job of five or six landscapers and volunteer Lynne and Plot Assistant, Usha, who were busy on our plot transplanting enough tomato seedlings to produce hundreds of organically grown fruits!

 

It really is rare to see such commitment and they were a joy to work with. We must say a big thank you to Jeremy for allowing his staff and the mini digger to help us get the ball rolling on this project. Best wishes to all at Benchmark from Paul and Usha @ the allotment.
