Hi everyone! My name is Amrit and I am a brass teacher and musician based in Birmingham. I studied French Horn at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and gained by PGCE(i) in Instrumental Teaching in 2024. I am incredibly passionate about music education, and believe that everyone should have access to a high quality music education no matter their background. It's important to me that I create a truly inclusive environment in my teaching, and I always strive to adapt each lesson to ensure that each pupil can access the learning in a way that suits them best.

I have been teaching for over 5 years both in school settings and privately, and take a pupil led approach to my teaching ensuring each lesson is tailored for each individual pupil's interests and needs. I have taught whole class instrumental lessons, one to one lessons, small group lessons, and led ensembles in my education work, alongside running Motherland Music CIC where I run music workshops in a variety of settings. I have taught pupils that range from complete beginners, to grade 8 standard pupils across both ABRSM and Trinity exam boards. I work with both adult learners and children, and have my Enhanced DBS and Safeguarding Policy available on request. I also teach a range of brass instruments including the trumpet/cornet, French horn, trombone, and tenor horn.
